What is pre-preg carbon fiber?

Pre-preg is the common term for fabric reinforcement pre-impregnated with a resin system, usually an epoxy, containing the necessary curing agent, making it ready for molding without additional resin.

Calibrated machinery applies the resin to the carbon fiber fabric to ensure an exact resin-to-reinforcement ratio. Manufacturing pre-preg parts involves pressure application, including vacuum and elevated pressures with an autoclave, to achieve optimal fiber consolidation and enhance the composite structure's performance.

What is an Autoclave?

An autoclave plays a crucial role in manufacturing composite parts. Unlike the traditional method of wet lay-up and air-drying, which may result in misaligned and distorted parts, Carbon Visionary production opts for an autoclave. Serving as a large pressure vessel, the autoclave applies heat and pressure to tightly mold the material around the mold, ensuring secure curing. This distinction is vital for carbon parts, distinguishing between those needing extra pre-installation work and those ready for immediate use. To showcase your carbon parts effectively, this method is the recommended approach.

Secret Clear Coat

We firmly believe that our Ceramic Coating process is unparalleled, setting our product apart from the rest.
This meticulous process takes place in a specialized, contamination-free zone, overseen by exceptionally skilled artisans.

The Ceramic Coating process involves three distinct steps. The pivotal difference lies in the initial two stages, where a secret component is combined with the Ceramic clear coating (regrettably, we are unable to reveal this secret ingredient).

The concluding third step of Coating guarantees the coating's endurance against all weather conditions and specifically provides UV protection for the carbon fiber.

Aftermarket Carbon Fiber parts can sometimes be perplexing! Many of these components lack clear coating and are solely coated with a clear resin that easily deteriorates when exposed to UV light.

This can lead to haziness, yellowing, and fading in the carbon weave, making it susceptible to damage from acidic bird droppings and insects.

To address this issue, we apply the ceramic coating. Ceramic coatings function similarly to a clear coat as they are highly resilient, long-lasting, and resistant to chemicals!

Enjoy your carbon fiber items but ensure their protection to maintain their pristine appearance.

IMPORTANT

Carbon Fiber can occasionally exhibit minor imperfections. However, this does not signify inferior quality products; on the contrary, it indicates the authenticity of real Carbon Fiber and the handcrafted nature of the item.
